Now, it gets good.
Well, if you got the figs there are some amazing waves around today. The beachfront looks relatively small but in fact is way overhead. The water is brown full of logs and the waves are landing powerfully on the bank. If you can sneak between the wash through’s and close outs there are some big barrels to be had and the Alley is even surf-able today. I saw a friend paddle out alone, have a set land directly on his head but then get 4 or 5 smoking waves all to himself. Worth the headache. The beaches are still getting pounded and the sand is moving around. I am looking forward to when all this craziness is over to really see what it has done to the beach.
I have heard Snapper to Kirra is smoking, an outer bank at Burleigh looking amazing and serious beach breaks all alone the southern end but definitely not for the faint hearted. Looks like it’s dropping a bit overnight but will pick up again on the weekend. I am sure there are people getting barrelled off their brain today! Rock on!
